County Adopts New Parking Rules Aimed at Clearing Out Long‑Term Vehicles

Adams County has adopted new parking rules aimed at clearing out long‑term and abandoned vehicles from county lots. Berne Council Reviews Multiple Tax Abatements, Hears Updates From Local Employers

The Berne City Council moved through a full agenda this week, approving several tax abatement renewals and hearing updates from three of the city’s major employers. Representatives from EP Graphics, Poseidon Barge, and FCC each reported on business conditions, workforce levels, and ongoing investments in their facilities.

EP Graphics noted that last year’s sales were affected by tariff uncertainty and nationwide postal delays but said customer activity has recently improved. Poseidon Barge reported a strong year with continued demand for its modular barges and a growing workforce now exceeding 110 employees. FCC outlined plans for new equipment tied to a $1.7 million investment as the company expands into additional product lines.

The council also agreed to move forward with establishing a no‑parking zone near the fire station on Parkway Street after congestion during school events made it difficult for emergency vehicles to exit.
