County Preparing New Signage Ordinance for All Parking Lots

Adams County will move forward with a new ordinance requiring standardized parking‑lot signage across all county‑owned properties, following a brief discussion at Tuesday’s commissioners meeting.

The board directed the county attorney to draft formal language that will govern how the signs must appear, including a requirement that each sign reference the ordinance number authorizing parking and towing enforcement. The move is intended to create uniform rules for every county lot and ensure that enforcement actions are clearly supported by posted notice.

Commissioners said the signage update is the next step in implementing the county’s recently adopted parking regulations. Once the draft is complete, it will return to a future meeting for review and adoption.

The new signs will apply to all county‑owned parking areas, including administrative buildings, service facilities and satellite offices.
