NEWS BULLETIN — OCT. 6
Early voting begins tomorrow, October 6, and voters will notice several procedural changes aimed at tightening security and streamlining the check‑in process.
What’s New This Year
- Enhanced Courthouse Security:
All visitors entering the courthouse will pass through metal detection screening operated by county sheriff’s deputies. Expect slightly longer entry times, especially during peak voting hours. - ID Requirement:
Voters must present a state‑issued photo ID to cast a ballot. Officials recommend having it ready before reaching the check‑in table to keep lines moving. - Prohibited Items:
In keeping with security protocols, voters are asked to leave pocket knives, weapons and hazardous items in their vehicles.
Bottom Line
Plan a few extra minutes for security screening, bring your valid ID, and enjoy a smooth start to early voting.
