FBI Raids Virginia Senator’s Office in Statewide Corruption Probe

VIRGINIA — Federal agents executed a series of coordinated raids across Virginia on Wednesday, including a search of the district office of State Sen. Louise Lucas, as part of a statewide corruption investigation, according to the FBI.

Agents were seen carrying boxes of documents out of Lucas’s office after instructing staff members to leave the building during the search. The FBI confirmed that court‑authorized criminal search warrants were carried out at more than ten locations.

Across the parking lot, agents and a tactical team also searched a cannabis dispensary that authorities say is connected to Lucas. Witnesses reported that officers entered with weapons drawn and ordered individuals inside to come out with their hands visible. At least three people were taken into custody at that location.

Lucas, a Democrat who serves as president pro tempore of the Virginia Senate, arrived at the scene while agents were still conducting searches. She told reporters she did not know the reason for the federal activity.

The FBI has not released details about the nature of the investigation or the charges associated with the arrests. Agents remained on site into the afternoon as the searches continued.
