The Decatur City Council on Tuesday received an update on the upcoming Homestead Fireworks event, scheduled for June 27 at Homestead Park.
Community coordinator Jamie Gart was unable to attend the meeting, but council members were informed that setup for the event will begin at noon, with activities running from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Center Drive in Homestead Park will be closed from noon to 11 p.m. to accommodate the event. The notice was provided on behalf of organizer Nate Stimson.
Council members were told the update was informational only and required no action.
The announcement was one of several routine items shared during the meeting as the city prepares for summer events.
