BERNE — Residents connected to Monroe’s wastewater system will see a rate increase in 2026, according to a report delivered at Monday’s Berne City Council meeting.
The Clerk‑Treasurer said Monroe has set its 2026 wastewater rate at $1.6641 per 1,000 gallons, up from the current $1.443 per 1,000 gallons.
No information was provided about rates beyond 2026.
The update came as part of the city’s financial report, which also noted that Berne has collected $1,215.50 so far this year through the state’s TRACK tax‑refund debt‑capture program.
The council took no action on the wastewater rate, as Monroe sets the charge and Berne passes it through to customers tied into that system.
