INDIANAPOLIS — Three U.S. Postal Service employees at the city’s Brookville Road processing center were arrested this week on felony theft and official‑misconduct charges after investigators say they stole high‑value mail, including multiple cell phones and a 1995 San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl ring valued at nearly $10,000.
According to court documents, postal inspectors began investigating after receiving a tip that new, unopened phones were being pawned. Surveillance footage and interviews led inspectors to Shavez Walker, Marcus Milbrooks, and Doneeka Terry.
Investigators say Walker was found wearing the stolen Super Bowl ring while on the job. He allegedly told inspectors he “found it on a forklift,” but video showed him arriving at work already wearing it. Milbrooks reportedly admitted to stealing phones and selling them, and Terry is accused of helping facilitate the thefts and sharing profits.
All three face Level 6 felony theft and official misconduct charges.
The Brookville Road facility has been the subject of multiple recent incidents, prompting union officials to criticize USPS management for lax oversight and repeated staffing problems.
