25 MPH Sign Installed at Landing at Dickinson Farms

VAN WERT, Ohio — A new 25‑mph speed‑limit sign has been installed at the entrance to The Landing at Dickinson Farms neighborhood, fulfilling a resident request to address traffic safety in the growing residential area.

Safety‑Service Director Jay Fleming informed City Council on Monday that the sign was erected earlier that day. It is positioned at the subdivision’s main entrance off Van Wert–Decatur Road to slow incoming traffic as it transitions from the busier connector road into the residential zone.

City officials did not discuss additional traffic‑calming measures during the meeting, but the installation is intended to curb speeding near active home construction and pedestrian areas. Fleming said placing the sign early in the subdivision’s development should help establish safer driving habits as the neighborhood continues to build out.

No further action was taken by the council.
