The Decatur City Council approved a $3,500 contribution to this year’s Fourth of July fireworks, adding $1,000 to last year’s amount without new unbudgeted spending. Council members highlighted the Chamber’s work and local business donations that make the $25,000 show possible.
A Fairy House Decorating Workshop will be held May 23 from 2–5 p.m. at Mirage Banquet Hall in Decatur. Cost is $5 per house, and all creations will be displayed at the Flight of the Fairies event on June 27.
