SR 116 to Close for 3 Months Starting May 29th

WELLS COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of State Road 116 for a small structure replacement.

Starting on or after May 29, crews will work on the culvert over Griffin Ditch between N. 400 W. and N. 500 W. east of Markle. Work on the project is expected to be complete by the end of August. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

During the closure, drivers should use the official detour of U.S. 224 and State Road 1, or seek an alternate route.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider safety for all by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
